How a PET Injection Blow Molding Machine Works: From Injection to Finished Bottle
A one-step machine moves the preform through several stations on one frame. The cycle has four stages:1. Preform injection. A screw melts the PET resin and injects it into the preform mold. This forms the neck, thread and body of the preform.
2. Temperature conditioning. The preform is brought to an even blowing temperature, so it stretches without thin spots.
3. Stretch and blow. A stretch rod and compressed air expand the preform against the bottle mold.
4. Ejection. The finished bottle is released and the cycle restarts.
